LONDON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Welsh-born actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been honored with the title Commander of the Order of the British Empire, officials said.

People.com said Zeta-Jones's husband, actor Michael Douglas, and their children, Carys and Dylan, were with her Thursday when she was recognized by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles for her contributions to film and charity at Buckingham Palace in London.

"It was worth (it) to have Michael in good health to be able to enjoy it with me," People.com quoted the star of "The Mask of Zorro," "Traffic," "Chicago" and "America's Sweethearts" as saying.

Douglas recently announced his treatment for throat cancer was successful.
