LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- DreamWorks Animation's "How To Train Your Dragon" captured the top award at the 38th Annual Annie Awards in Los Angeles.
Pixar's "Day & Night" won the award in the best-animated short subject category during the ceremony Saturday on the University of California-Los Angeles campus.
The Annie Awards honors the best-animated films and television shows, and the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association-Hollywood has hosted the ceremony since 1972.
The award for best-animated television commercial went to Duck Studios "Children's Medical Center" and Nickelodeon's "SpongeBob SquarePants" was honored in the best-animated television production for children category.
Sony Picture's "Alice in Wonderland" won an award in a new category, character animation in a live action production.
The awards ceremony will be Webcast on the organization's Web site, www.annieawards.org, at a later date.
