Tomei to host Sci-Tech Oscars

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Marisa Tomei is to serve as host of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., the academy said.

The event is to take place Feb. 12 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Tomei, a best supporting actress Oscar winner for her performance in "My Cousin Vinny," will present 11 awards to 23 individual recipients during the evening, the academy announced Friday.

Tomei has also received Oscar nominations for her roles in "In the Bedroom" and "The Wrestler."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented Feb. 27 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
