GLENDALE, Calif., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law are to lead the voice cast of "Rise of the Guardians," California's DreamWorks Animation said.

Pine will play the main character Jack Frost in the animated adventure, set for release Nov. 21, 2012.

Baldwin will play North, also known as Santa Claus, Jackman will play Bunnymund, aka Easter Bunny, Fisher will play Tooth, aka Tooth Fairy and Law will play Pitch, aka The Boogeyman.

The movie is based on "The Guardians of Childhood," a series of children's books by William Joyce, who is co-directing the film with Peter Ramsey.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire penned the screenplay for the picture, which is being executive produced by Guillermo del Toro and Michael Siegel.

"It's a thrill to be working with such an all-star team of actors and filmmakers on 'Rise of the Guardians,'" Bill Damaschke, chief creative officer at DreamWorks Animation, said in a statement Thursday. "When we bring Bill Joyce's imaginative vision to the screen in 2012, audiences will experience an incredible story with a truly epic sense of adventure."
