LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Elijah Wood is to reprise his role as Frodo Baggins in the two-part film adaptation of the fantasy novel "The Hobbit," EW.com reported Friday.
Wood played the part in the three "Lord of the Rings" blockbusters, which are set decades after the events in "The Hobbit." All of the films are based on books by J.R.R. Tolkien.
TheOneRing.net said Frodo will re-appear in the opening sequence of both "Hobbit" films as part of a narrative framing device.
