LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Former "Big Love" co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Aaron Paul are returning for the finale of the U.S. polygamy-themed drama series, its producers told TVGuide.com.

Seyfried and Paul, who played a couple on-screen, left the show at the end of Season 4 to pursue other projects.

Seyfried has been starring in movies such as "Mamma Mia!," "Dear John" and "Letters to Juliet."

Paul is a cast member of TV's "Breaking Bad."

"Both Amanda and Paul really wanted to be a part of the last episode, even though they were both shooting movies," "Big Love" co-creator Will Scheffer told TVGuide.com.

"It was special. Literally and figuratively it was a family getting back together," said Scheffer's fellow executive producer Mark Olsen of having the former co-stars return for the finale.

The show is set to wrap up after five seasons in May.
