Macdonald to appear in final 'Potter'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald will appear in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," The Wrap reported Tuesday.

The film is the eighth and final installment of the fantasy franchise based on J.K. Rowling's series of best-selling books. Production recently wrapped on the movie following some re-shoots, media reports said.

Macdonald is best known for her work in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Girl in the Cafe," as well as in the films "Intermission," "Gosford Park," "Nanny McPhee" and "No Country for Old Men."

Macdonald will be seen playing the ghostly Grey Lady -- also known as Helena Ravenclaw, the late daughter of one of Hogwarts' founders -- in "Hallows." The part was played in the first film, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," by Nina Young, The Wrap noted.

The "Potter" finale is to open in U.S. theaters July 15.
