LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable network The Hub has announced plans to air a new animated series called "Dan Vs.," featuring the voices of Curtis Armstrong and Dave Foley.

Armstrong is known for his work in the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies and TV's "Moonlighting." Foley was a member of the casts of "Kids in the Hall" and "NewsRadio."

"Brought to you by the same production company behind 'The Simpsons' and 'King of the Hill,' 'Dan Vs.' follows misanthropic main character, Dan, as he goes through life blaming the world for his hardships," The Hub said in a synopsis Monday.

The family-oriented show is to debut Jan. 1.
