
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," directed by Michael Apted, took in $24.5 million during the weekend for the No. 1 U.S. spot.
"The Tourist," starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, settled into the No. 2 spot with $17 million at the weekend box office.
The animated "Tangled" was a strong No. 3 with more than $14.55 million.
All estimated gross box office figures are from the studios via Box Office Mojo.
Cooling down a little bit was "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1," No. 4 for the weekend with $8.5 million.
"Unstoppable" was fifth with $3.75 million; "Black Swan" sixth with more than $3.33 million; "Burlesque" seventh with $3.2 million; "Love and Other Drugs" eighth with $3 million; "Due Date" ninth with more than $2.54 million.
The animated "Megamind" rounded out the top 10 with $2.51 million.
