NEW YORK, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A publicist for Josh Duhamel says the U.S. actor is "sorry" for a texting incident that got him removed from an airplane.

Duhamel was kicked off the plane at New York's LaGuardia Airport after he refused to follow a flight attendant's directions to turn off his BlackBerry, sources told TMZ.

Duhamel's film credits include "Transformers" and "Life as We Know It." He is married to pop star Fergie.

One passenger told TMZ Duhamel was "very rude" and "taunting the attendant" while the plane was on the runway Thursday. The aircraft was turned back to the gate while Duhamel was removed and the flight from New York to Kentucky was delayed.

Duhamel's publicist told the celebrity news Web site the actor was texting someone that he would be getting in later than expected.

"He's sorry," the representative said.

The TMZ report did not say what airline was involved in the incident.
