NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Representatives for U.S. director Darren Aronofsky and British actress Rachel Weisz say the celebrity couple have broken up after nine years together.

Aronofsky and Weisz, who collaborated on the film "The Fountain," are the parents of a 4-year-old boy, however, they never married.

"Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in New York City," their publicists said in a statement issued to TMZ.

Weisz has been romantically linked for months to Daniel Craig, her co-star in the upcoming movie, "Dream House," the entertainment news Web site reported Tuesday.
