NEW YORK, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Principal photography has begun in New York on "Man on a Ledge," a feature starring Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks, Summit Entertainment said.

In the film, Worthington plays a former police officer-turned-fugitive standing on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department hostage negotiator, played by Banks, tries to talk him down.

The movie co-stars Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Edward Burns and Jamie Bell.

"'Man on a Ledge' is an incredible suspense thriller with a powerhouse cast. I look forward to producing this project and once again working with Summit Entertainment with which we just released the action comedy 'Red,'" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said in a statement Saturday.
