LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- "Jackass 3-D" raked in $50 million for the No. 1 spot during the weekend, setting a September.-October opening gross record, Box Office Mojo said.

The weekend's take exceeds the previous record, 2003's "Scary Movie 3" for $48.1 million.

"Red," an action flick starring Bruce Willis and the still gorgeous Helen Mirren, brought in $22.5 million for a distant but respectable No. 2. "The Social Network," the purported story of Facebook with an ensemble cast, brought in $11 million for No. 3.

All studio estimates of gross receipts are via Box Office Mojo.

"Secretariat" brought in more than $9.5 million for fourth; "Life as We Know It" $9.2 million for fifth; "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" sixth with more than $4.23 million; "The Town" $4.04 million for seventh; "My Soul to Take" with more than $3.16 million for eighth; "Easy A" with $2.65 million for ninth.

"Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" was 10th with $2.35 million.
