MALIBU, Calif., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- The Malibu Film Society says it will honor director Rob Reiner at an upcoming ceremony at the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue.

Reiner is to be presented with the society's Malibu Filmmaker of the Year award Oct. 24, organizers said.

Opening remarks for the event will be delivered by Reiner's father, actor-director Carl Reiner. The evening will conclude with a screening of Rob Reiner's latest feature film, "Flipped."

The younger Reiner's film directing credits include "This is Spinal Tap," "A Few Good Men," "Princess Bride," "Misery," "When Harry Met Sally" and "Ghosts of Mississippi."
