'Karate' tops DVD sales, rental charts

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The remake of the 1980s classic film "The Karate Kid" is the top-selling DVD and rental in the United States, Rentrak reported Thursday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD sales list for the week ending Oct. 10 is "Iron Man 2," followed by "A Nightmare on Elm Street" at No. 3, "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue" at No. 4 and "Robin Hood" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Get Him to the Greek" at No. 6, "Splice" at No. 7, "Bones: The Complete Fifth Season" at No. 8, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" at No. 9 and "Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale" at No. 10.

The No. 2 rental for the week ending Oct. 9 is "Get Him to the Greek," followed by "Iron Man 2" at No. 3,

"Robin Hood" at No. 4, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" at No. 5, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" at No. 6,

"Splice" at No. 7, "Killers" at No. 8, "Letters to Juliet" at No. 9 and "Just Wright" at No. 10.
