Teen solves centuries-old math problem
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- "The Town," written and directed by Ben Affleck, who also stars, took the No. 1 spot during the weekend with $23.8 million in U.S. box office receipts.
"Easy A," starring Emma Stone, came in No. 2 with $18.2 million.
"Devil" was No. 3 with nearly $12.6 million.
All gross studio box office receipts are estimates via Box Office Mojo.
"Resident Evil: Afterlife" was fourth with $10.1 million; "Alpha and Omega" was fifth with $9.2 million; "Takers" was sixth with $3 million; "The American" was seventh with more than $2.7 million; "Inception" eighth with more than $2 million and "The Other Guys" was ninth with $2 million.
"Machete," directed by Robert Rodriguez, rounded out the Top 10 with $1.7 million.
