CANNES, France, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Filmmaker Robert Redford will celebrate the first anniversary of Sundance Channel in Europe at next month's MIPCOM TV market in France, event organizers said.

Redford, the founder of Sundance Channel, is slated to participate in a media question-and-answer session Oct. 6, during which he will discuss the Sundance Channel's international expansion plans, organizers said.

Gene Simmons, front man of KISS and star of the hit unscripted series "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," is scheduled to deliver a keynote address with Bob DeBitetto, president and general manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel, during the "How to Build an Entertainment Brand" MIPCOM conference, designed to help participants understand the inner workings of branded entertainment.

The MIPCOM lineup includes special previews of the new TV shows "The Walking Dead," "Good Dog," "Haven" and "The Event," and actor Luke Perry will be on hand to present "Goodnight for Justice," a 90-minute television movie about a boy in the Old West who witnesses an act of violence that claims the lives of his parents and an influential public official. Directed by Jason Priestley, the film is based on material developed by Perry-- who worked with Priestly in the 1990s on "Beverly Hills, 90210."
