SARATOGA, Calif., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Actress Joan Fontaine is financing the refurbishment of her mother's namesake Lilian Fontaine Garden Theatre in Saratoga, Calif.

The 92-year-old Oscar winner does not want the exact sum of her contribution to be disclosed, although Angela McConnell, Montalvo's executive director, revealed it's a "five-figure gift," the San Jose Mercury News reported Saturday.

Delmar McComb, Montalvo's garden curator, said he plans to plant a 6- to 8-foot hedgerow to "frame the amphitheater and unify it, creating more intimacy."

The outdoor theater, part of the Montalvo Arts Center, has operated since 1912.

"If you ever wonder about me come to this garden, and I'll be here, somewhere around," Lilian Fontaine reportedly told a friend before her death in 1975.
