NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Shooting has successfully wrapped in New York's Bronx borough on Rashaad Ernesto Green's first feature-length film, "Gun Hill Road," its producers said.
The family drama takes place in Green's hometown and filming was done in 22 days entirely in various Bronx locales, including Dewitt Clinton High School and on Gun Hill Road itself. Production was completed Aug. 17 with Bronx natives Esai Morales and Judy Reyes heading up the cast, the film's producers said Monday.
"Rashaad has written and directed a powerful story about a family struggling to reconnect as cultures, values, and generations collide," executive producer Ronald Simons said in a statement. "We were blessed with a talented, hardworking cast and crew who brought the right combination of professional experience along with different perspectives on race, sexuality, age and gender. With Rashaad's vision, we were able to make the story of 'Gun Hill Road' resonate on the screen."
