LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Nancy Dolman, the Canadian-born wife of actor-comedian Martin Short, has died, Short's publicist said Monday. She was 58.

Media reports said Dolman and Short met in the 1970s while performing in a Canadian stage production of the musical "Godspell." They were married 30 years and are the parents of three adult children.

"Sadly, we can confirm that Martin Short's wife did pass away," Camille Kuznetz said Monday. "We do not have any other comment to make."

CNN said details about the time, location and cause of Dolman's death were not immediately released.

E! News noted Dolman had been battling cancer since 2007.
