CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Actor Vince Vaughn invited his mother along for a parachute jump with members of the Army's Golden Knights Saturday at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

Both jumped in tandem with Golden Knights from 12,500 feet over Lake Michigan, the Chicago Tribune reported. Vaughn made a perfect landing, and mother and son hugged once both were back on earth.

"We weren't nervous, we were more excited," Sharon Vaughn said afterward.

Vaughn, star of "The Wedding Crashers," grew up in Lake Forest outside Chicago. He just completed "The Dilemma," a comedy directed by Ron Howard and set in Chicago.

"That was the first time for the both of us," Vaughn said. "That's not exactly our hobby."
