'Inception' again captures No. 1 spot

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- The mind-bender "Inception" with Leonardo DiCaprio took the No. 1 spot for the third weekend in a row with $27.52 million in gross U.S. receipts.

Enough people attended "Dinner for Schmucks," with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, to make it a strong No. 2 with $23.3 million.

"Salt" with Angelina Jolie was third with $19.25 million.

All studio box office estimates are via Box Office Mojo.

"Despicable Me" was fourth with more than $15.54 million; "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" was fifth with more than $12.52 million; "Charlie St. Cloud" sixth with more than $12.13.

"Toy Story 3" was seventh with more than $5.03 million; "Grown Ups" eighth with $4.5 million; "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" ninth with $4.32 million.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" rounded out the top 10 with more than $3.96 million.
