Diablo Cody gives birth to a son

LOS ANGELES, July 28 (UPI) -- Hollywood screenwriter Diablo Cody announced via Twitter she has given birth to her first child, a son she named Marcello Daniel Maurio.

People.com said the baby was born Tuesday and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

He is the first child for Cody and her husband, Daniel Maurio, who works on the TV series "Chelsea Lately." The couple married last summer.

Cody penned the big-screen comedy "Juno" and created Showtime's "United States of Tara."
