NEW YORK, July 22 (UPI) -- Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley Knight and Janet Montgomery have joined the cast of the big-screen comedy "My Idiot Brother," now filming in New York.

Anthony Bregman of the Likely Story production company and Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub of Big Beach announced the casting additions this week.

Directed by Jesse Peretz, "My Idiot Brother" co-stars Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones and Adam Scott.

"Ned is an idealist. His three sisters are ambitious. Ned crashes at each of their homes, in succession, and brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives. In other words, he wreaks havoc," said a synopsis of the film provided by its producers.

"The response to Jesse's vision for the film and the disastrously funny script by Evegenia Peretz and David Schisgall has been amazing, and we could not be more thrilled with the amazing actors that will bring these characters to life," producer Peter Saraf said in a statement.
