The invited celebrity guest list also includes singer-actress-director Barbra Streisand, former British Prime Minister John Major, filmmaker Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw and media mogul Ted Turner, the Hudson Valley News of Hyde Park, N.Y., reported.
The 30-year-old daughter of U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is to marry 32-year-old Goldman Sachs investment banker Marc Mezvinsky July 31 in the quaint Hudson Valley town of Rhinebeck, 90 miles north of New York City.
Rhinebeck, about an hour's drive north of the Clintons' residence in Chappaqua, N.Y., is a favorite Clinton destination "for pleasure and political fundraising," the newspaper says.
The wedding is to take place at the Astor Courts estate, the palatial Beaux Arts former home of tycoon John Jacob Astor IV, who died aboard the Titanic in 1912.
Other prominent guests include former Clinton White House Deputy Chief of Staff Harold Ickes; Democratic Party fundraiser Terry McAuliffe, who ran Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign and was chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign; American presidential biographer and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin; and longtime Clinton friend Denise Rich, whose ex-husband, fugitive financier Marc Rich, received a pardon from Bill Clinton on his last day in office, the newspaper says.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs refused to say if Obama plans to attend the nuptials, the New York Daily News reported.
The Hudson Valley News said Obama will likely travel aboard Air Force One to Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, N.Y., 55 miles north of New York City, and then take the Marine One helicopter into Rhinebeck if he attends.
