LOS ANGELES, July 13 (UPI) -- Film director John McTiernan has pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles court to making false statements in the Anthony Pellicano wiretap case.
Pellicano, a former private investigator, is serving a 15-year prison term for wiretapping people in the entertainment industry.
The Hollywood Reporter said McTiernan, director of "Die Hard" and "Predator," entered his guilty plea Monday and is expected to be sentenced Oct. 4.
The filmmaker admitted to lying to the FBI about hiring Pellicano. He also confessed to making false statements to a judge when he tried to withdraw a previous guilty plea, the newspaper said.
