Streep may play Thatcher in film

LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Meryl Streep is in talks to play former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in a 1982-set, fact-based film called "Thatcher."

The Hollywood Reporter said the project could reunite Streep with her "Mamma Mia!" director Phyllida Lloyd.

British actor Jim Broadbent is in talks to play Thatcher's husband, Denis, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
