BURBANK, Calif., June 14 (UPI) -- Victoria Beckham, John O'Hurley and Sebastian Bach have signed on to lend their voices for the U.S. television special "The Clash of Triton," Nickelodeon said.

The new half-hour SpongeBob SquarePants program is to premiere July 5, the network said.

Beckham will play Queen Amphitrite, while O'Hurley portrays her husband, King Neptune, and Bach plays their rebellious son, Triton.

"We're happy to have such a talented and eclectic group of celebrities lend their voices to this SpongeBob special," Brown Johnson, president of animation at Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group, said in a statement Monday. "Victoria, John and Sebastian truly brought Bikini Bottom's royal family to life!"

"I was so thrilled when I was asked to be a part of SpongeBob as my children love the show," Beckham said. "When I told the boys that I was going to be on the show, they were so excited! I had such a great time recording the voice of Queen Amphitrite. How fun to be a queen for a day! We are all looking forward to watching it together."
