LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Irish actor Colin Farrell and Australian actress Toni Collette are to star in a remake of the 1985 horror flick "Fright Night," The Hollywood Reporter said.

Farrell, whose film credits include "In Bruges," "Miami Vice," "Pride and Glory," "Alexander" and "Phone Booth," is to play a vampire in the new version of "Fright Night," the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Collette, who stars on TV's "United States of Tara," reportedly will play a mother who falls under the charming bloodsucker's spell and refuses to believe her teen son's theories about the newcomer to the neighborhood. Anton Yelchin will play the son.
