'Avatar' tops U.S. DVD sales chart

LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- The science-fiction blockbuster "Avatar" is the top-selling DVD in the United States, Rentrak reported Thursday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD sales list for the week ending April 25 is "Crazy Heart," followed by "The Lovely Bones" at No. 3, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel" at No. 4 and "Sherlock Holmes" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "The Blind Side" at No. 6, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" at No. 7, "The Princess and the Frog" at No. 8, "Alice in Wonderland (Special Un-Anniversary Edition)" at No. 9 and "The Young Victoria" at No. 10.

The top DVD rental for the week ending April 24 is "The Blind Side."

"Avatar" is No. 2, "The Lovely Bones" is No. 3, "The Men Who Stare At Goats" is No. 4, "2012" is No. 5, "Up in the Air" is No. 6, "Sherlock Holmes" is No. 7, "Brothers" is No. 8, "Couples Retreat" is No. 9 and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is No. 10.
