'Monsters Inc.' sequel in the works

LOS ANGELES, April 23 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Disney studio says it plans to release a sequel to the 2001 Pixar blockbuster "Monsters Inc." in November 2012.

The original animated movie featured the voice talents of John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Steve Buscemi. It earned more than $525 million at the worldwide box office.

Variety said Disney Chairman Rich Ross announced plans Thursday for the "Monsters" sequel.
