LOS ANGELES, April 9 (UPI) -- British-born screen icon Elizabeth Taylor is planning her ninth wedding, a source told UsMagazine.com exclusively.

The 78-year-old star of "National Velvet," "Giant" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is engaged to Jason Winters, 49, of Sterling Winters Management, the insider told the Web site.

Winters is pop singer Janet Jackson's new manager.

Taylor was close friends with Jackson's recording star brother, Michael, who died last summer.

"It's no secret that they've been together forever and are in love, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they were engaged. Right now they are keeping it between them," a second source told UsMagazine.com of Taylor's relationship with Winters, which has been buzzed about by the media since 2007.

Taylor previously was married eight times -- twice to the late actor Richard Burton. She was last wed to construction worker Larry Fortensky from 1991-96.

The actress has, in recent years, battled myriad health issues and is not seen frequently in public.
