LOS ANGELES, March 29 (UPI) -- Howard Gordon, a producer of the U.S. television series "24," said a big-screen version of the show is in the works.
Gordon told The Hollywood Reporter Kiefer Sutherland will reprise his role as government agent Jack Bauer in the film.
The "24" movie reportedly is being written by Billy Ray, whose screen credits include "State of Play" and "Shattered Glass."
Gordon told the entertainment industry trade newspaper the film could hit theaters "as early as next year, depending on how things come together."
Fox announced last week the show's current season, its eighth, would be its last.
