LOS ANGELES, March 21 (UPI) -- "Alice in Wonderland" staved off competition from three new films to stay atop the U.S. box office for the third weekend with $34.5 million in receipts.
"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" was second with $21.8 million.
"The Bounty Hunter" was a close third with $21 million; "Repo Men" was fourth with more than $6.15 million.
All gross box office estimates are from Box Office Mojo.
"She's Out of My League" was fifth with more than $6.01 million; "Green Zone" sixth with more than $5.96 million; "Shutter Island" seventh with more than $4.75 million; "Avatar," in its 14th weekend, was eighth with $4 million; "Our Family Wedding" came in ninth with $3.8 million.
"Remember Me" rounded out the top 10 with $3.3 million.
