MIAMI, March 4 (UPI) -- Burt Reynolds' manager says the 74-year-old screen icon is recovering after undergoing planned heart surgery at a Florida hospital.
Reynolds has starred in the movies "Boogie Nights," "Smokey and the Bandit," "Deliverance," "The Longest Yard" and "The Cannonball Run."
"Mr. Reynolds has been released from a hospital in Florida in which he had a planned bypass operation," his manager, Erik Kritzer, told TVGuide.com Wednesday. "He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and states that he has a great motor with brand new pipes and he is feeling great. Doctors plan on a speedy recovery."
The television news Web site did not say when Reynolds had the operation or where he is recuperating.
