
PARIS, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Jacques Audiard and his movie, "The Prophet," took nine awards including best director and best film at the 35th annual Cesar Awards in Paris.
Both the best actor and most promising actor awards went to "The Prophet" star Tahar Rahim, while his co-star Niels Arestrup won best supporting actor Saturday night, The Hollywood Reporter said Sunday.
"The Prophet" -- which is in the running for an Academy Award in the foreign language category -- also won Cesars for best original screenplay, best editing, best production design and best cinematography.
Actress Isabelle Adjani took the Cesar for best actress for her role in "Skirt Day," Emmanuelle Devos won best support actress for "In the Beginning" and Melanie Thierry was named most promising actress for "One for the Road."
The best foreign film was Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino" and Harrison Ford received the career-spanning Cesar of Honor award.
