NEWTON, Mass., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The Fairmont in San Francisco is No. 1 on TripAdvisor's list of the top 10 famous movie hotels, the travel firm announced Friday.
The Fairmont has appeared in the films "Vertigo," "Towering Inferno," "Sudden Impact," "Junior" and "The Rock."
"There are posters hanging from the various movies that were filmed there, and lots of photos of famous guests throughout the years," one TripAdvisor traveler noted.
Coming in at No. 2 on the list is the Bellagio in Las Vegas, followed by The Plaza in New York at No. 3, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles at No. 4, the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Calif., at No. 5, the Renaissance St. Louis Hotel Airport in Saint Louis, Mo., at No. 6, The Roosevelt Hotel in New York at No. 7, the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach at No. 8, the Timberline Lodge in Timberline Lodge, Ore., at No. 9 and Mountain Lake Hotel in Pembroke, Va. at No. 10.
