BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Actress Jennifer Aniston says she hopes the 41st birthday getaway she enjoyed with friends gave a bit of a boost to the struggling Mexican economy.

Aniston recently spent a few days at the One and Only Palmilla resort in Cabo San Lucas with celebrity friends Courteney Cox, Jason Bateman, Sheryl Crow, Kathy Najimy, Gerard Butler and others.

The former "Friends" star said a pal who organized the group getaway suggested Mexico as the destination.

"He said to me, 'You come to Mexico all the time and Mexico is really hurting right now because of the swine flu and the drug trafficking and all of this sort of stuff but it's not all of Mexico,'" Aniston told TV's "Access Hollywood." "These people survive on us coming down and spending money and coming here to these beautiful places. It sort of made sense to sort of say, 'Hey, let's help out Mexico.' Let's shout out to these kids in Tijuana at El Faro and you know, that's sort of our birthday celebration this year."

Aniston was also in the country to introduce the Farita doll along with the One and Only Palmilla and her acting coach and friend, Leigh Kilton Smith. Proceeds from the sale of the doll are intended to benefit the Friends of El Faro organization, which raises money to aid children at the Casa Hogar Sion orphanage in Tijuana.
