LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million to aid the victims of last week's devastating earthquake in Haiti, People.com said Tuesday.

As many as 200,000 people are believed to have died in the Jan. 12 disaster that left an estimated 1.5 million people homeless.

Film star George Clooney also donated $1 million towards the relief effort, as did celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, while supermodel Gisele Bundchen has pledged $1.5 million and pop star Madonna gave $250,000, Variety reported.

Bullock won a Golden Globe Award Sunday for best actress in a drama film for her work in "The Blind Side."
