Oscar ballots mailed out to voters

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Nomination ballots for the 82nd Academy Awards were mailed Monday to the 5,777 voting members of Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Academy said on its Web site completed ballots must be returned to the tabulating firm PricewaterhouseCoopers by 5 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted.

The 82nd Academy Awards nominations are to be announced Feb. 2 at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2009 are to be presented March 7 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.

The awards show is to be televised live by the ABC Television Network.
