'Princess' jumps to No. 1 at box office

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- "The Princess and the Frog" leaped to the No. 1 spot at the U.S. box office this weekend, raking in $25 million in estimated gross receipts.

"The Blind Side" was second with $15.45 million.

All figures are from Box Office Mojo.

"Invictus" was third with more than $9.08 million; "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" fourth with $8 million; "A Christmas Carol" fifth with more than $6.87 million; "Brothers" sixth with $5 million; "2012" seventh with $4.4 million; "Old Dogs" eighth with more than $4.39 million; and "Armored" ninth with $3.5 million.

"Ninja Assassin" rounded out the top 10 with $2.71 million.
