ROME, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Elisabetta Canalis' father says the Italian television personality is still dating Hollywood movie star George Clooney, despite reports claiming they split up.
ANSA quoted Giulio Cesare Canalis, a radiologist and professor at Sassari University, as saying his daughter and Clooney are still very much a couple.
"My daughter is happy and at peace," he told the weekly Italian newspaper Oggi. "There is genuine affection between my daughter and Clooney."
The younger Canalis and Clooney reportedly met during the summer and started going out in public together in September.
"As I expected before meeting him, he is a very warm, decent man, who remains very down-to-earth, despite his fame," the elder Canalis said.
