LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The film "This Is It," starring the late U.S. pop star Michael Jackson, is to be released on DVD and Blu-ray in January, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment said.

The hit concert movie reportedly earned $240 million worldwide during its limited run. The film was comprised of footage showing Jackson rehearsing in the weeks before his June 25 death for a series of sold-out London concerts that were to begin in July.

"It's the biggest music movie ever, in terms of the box office," Home Media magazine quoted Marc Rashba, vice president of worldwide marketing for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, as saying in a statement. "Clearly, for both music and movie fans, it's something you almost have to own."
