LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Jackie Earle Haley admits he has heard he is up for the role of Sinestro in Hollywood's "Green Lantern" film, but insists he hasn't been offered the part.
The former child actor appeared in the "Bad News Bears" movies in the 1970s, and was seen in the recent big-screen outings "Watchmen" and "Little Children."
Ryan Reynolds has been cast as the superhero and his alter ego, Hal Jordan, in "Green Lantern."
"I just heard about this, literally," Haley told MTV News about Internet rumors claiming he is being considered for the super villain role in "Green Lantern."
"I know the guys that are doing it. It's exciting to me," he added. "It makes me want to go get the 'Green Lantern' comics and start reading up."
As for co-starring with Reynolds in the film, Haley reportedly remarked, "I'd love to work with him."
