LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles Superior Court judge Friday extended Lindsay Lohan's probation a year to allow the actress time to complete her court-ordered counseling.

Lohan was ordered to take part in an alcohol education program as part of her probation following a 2007 arrest for driving under the influence.

E! News quoted Judge Marsha Revel as saying at Friday's progress hearing that she is "rooting" for Lohan to succeed, but won't stand for any violations of her probation agreement.

"I'm going to know about it because your whole life is followed," Revel warned the star of "Mean Girls" and "The Parent Trap."
