NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Jimmy Smits and Annie Potts have signed on to co-star in the Broadway play "God of Carnage," show representatives said Thursday.

Christine Lahti and Ken Stott will round out the quartet taking over for the Broadway production's original stars, James Gandolfini, Marcia Hay Harden, Hope Davis and Jeff Daniels.

The new cast is to begin performances Nov. 17 at Manhattan's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

Yasmina Reza's comedy, which won the Tony Awards for best play and best direction of a play, deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.
