LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Hip-hop artist Apl.de.Ap says he has been named a leading score composer for the big-screen comedy, "Happy Ending -- A Touching Musical."

Written and directed by Andrew Le Pera, the movie was created in the irreverent spirit of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and is filled with an "expressive array of transvestites, square dancing Geishas and yodeling," Apl.de.Ap's Jeepney Music label said in a news release.

In addition to working on the film's musical score, the artist will also play an acrobatic vaudevillian clown on screen.

"I am excited to be producing and writing some of the music for 'Happy Ending: A Touching Musical,'" he said in a statement. "The clever innuendos melded with a compelling script and lyrics drew me right in. This production will be guaranteed to make a lot of people laugh and sing."
