The even will be the first golf charity event for the organization, meant to raise funds for its Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance programs for actors in need, The Hollywood Reporter said.
“The SAG Foundation is a phenomenal organization that helps my fellow union brothers and sisters in times of emergency,” said Perlman. “I’m looking forward to hosting the first New York Golf Classic so that the SAG Foundation can continue to make a difference by responding swiftly when crises arise.”
The event is set to be held Oct. 7 at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester.
The SAG Foundation recently raised $135,000 in disaster relief funds for New York and New Jersey area SAF-AFTRA performers in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. Perlman was involved in that effort with a call-to-action public service announcement for the fundraiser.
