The series, "Wayward Pines" is billed as "an intense, mind-bending thriller" about Secret Service agent Ethan Burke, played by Dillon.
Burke is sent to the town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, to investigate the disappearance of two federal agents.
The former "Spin City" actress will play the role of Kate Hewson, Burke's former partner and love interest who lives in the bucolic town, Yahoo reported.
The series is based on the novel "Pines" by Blake Crouch. Chad Hodge is set to write and executive produce the series, and Shyamalan, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan will also executive produce.
Shyamalan is set to direct the first episode, which will premiere next year, Yahoo said.
