Andrew Garfield said he'd love to explore Spider-Man's sexuality in the film franchise and suggested Michael B. Jordan as a potential love interest for the superhero.

Garfield told Entertainment Weekly he recently pondered, "What if MJ [Mary Jane] was a dude?"

"Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking! … So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?” the British actor asked.

Garfield suggested Jordan, of "The Wire," as a possible male version of Mary Jane.

"He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better -- we’d have interracial bisexuality!” Garfield said.

"Amazing Spider-Man 2" director Marc Webb said he's aware of Garfield's thoughts on the relationship twist.

“Michael B. Jordan, I know," he said. “Uh, are you kidding?”
